What is Humanizer?
Humanizer is a free, open-source skill for Claude Code and Codex. It looks for 26 habits that make text sound written by AI, like "It's not just X, it's Y" or a closing line such as "Let that sink in.", and rewrites them.
It's built on the guide Wikipedia editors use to spot AI writing. The skill tells your AI to keep your facts and add none, and to ask you when a sentence needs a detail you didn't give.
Step 1: Install it
In Claude Code, type these two lines, one at a time:
/plugin marketplace add blader/humanizer/plugin install humanizer@humanizerYou need Claude Code 2.1.142 or newer. Type claude --version in your terminal to check.
Step 2: Ask your AI to rewrite your text
Open Claude Code or Codex and paste one of these, with your own text in the brackets:
Please humanize this text: [paste your text]Humanize the prose in about.mdWhen you name a file, it changes only the words and leaves code and links alone.
/humanizer Here's a sample of my writing for voice matching: [paste 2 or 3 paragraphs you wrote] Now humanize this text: [paste the text]With a sample, it follows how you write, down to your punctuation.
What should you watch out for?
It changes your wording, so read the result before you publish it. In our test on a short bakery post, it added "worth the trip", a phrase that wasn't in the original.
It's told to keep your facts, but it doesn't check them. A wrong price or date in your text is still wrong after the rewrite.
It isn't built to get past AI checkers. Its own page says they still flag most of what it writes.
